The Optimist - Original Passage
Yeh this got turned into a song called The Optimist, which i think should be up on http://www.myspace.com/jackbruun (If it's not i can send you a copy), however the writing might be interesting to some so check it :). Straight outa the moleskin of Jack hahaha
I once was the optimist,
I stood tall, happy and proud,
I loved what i loved and i told everyone who felt differently to fuck off with pride.
I stood tall amongst the world, with hope filled heart and i smiled at all the bullshit!
like the child i longed to be i smiled at strangers,
I danced with danger,
I didn't care what was around the bend because i was happy!
It's funny how the world likes to change its mind,
and i know that nothings changed but with those faces i used to smile at with hope and respect, i would now gladly hang feet first in my burning building!
I have no hope. I am the definition of hate filled!
We cannot stand tall. Anger is not to be bulletproof. To have to defend yourself is not bulletproof, to not have to second think anything and turn and say "fuck you, this is what i believe", and to say that with no anger or hatred, but with pride! This is bulletproof!''
Strength is not to sit at a gym tirelessly working to improve your "guns" to intimidate and give power/piece of mind. You can be the scrawniest piece of shit (not unlike myself) and still come out on top. Strength is knowing that nothing can hurt you, to be able to take that fist in the face, that knife in the gut and sit smiling knowing that you lived, happily, how you wanted to live this life!
... (and now the pessimism begins)
I loved this...
I loved life...
but this world is so cold,
weakness will prevail,
and noone will enjoy it.
except for those faces i once smiled upon,
and now use me for all my worth.
No matter how limited.
FIN...
Yeh i thought that might be interesting to somebody haha, plus i figure why should I just keep all this shit private, Maybe someone will enjoy it :).
More useless babble soon :)
