I've come to the conclusion that ageing is a terrible thing and im not talking about the 'top 100 ways to stay thin and avoid wrinkles' ageing, more the 7 year olds progressing into a fully fledged 20 year old,
It is rare to find a person who makes it through this world through their teenage years and doesn't become some sordid, angry and hatefilled human being. We laugh this off and just say 'oh well, that's life!'
I was recently reading up on the scramblings of a certain young artist, (who will remain unamed)
who once created works that were optimistic, beautiful and made me think there was hope.
Now, however, at the age of only 18 her works have become angry,
upset, heart broken, apathetic and discontent with the world.
i know this is kinda a over visited topic, and very cliche for someone who dresses like me, (haha) BUT, how can any of us truely say we are happy?
Why do we drink?
Why do we smoke?
Why do we take drugs?
Why do we watch movies?
Why do we buy magazines?
Why do we eat expensive food?
Simply to treat our own social insecurities!
this is bullshit!
Some people do all of the above intentionally in a form of escapism (myself included sorry), others do it obvlivious to the fact that you are just numbing the pain... and yes, this does sound very depressing and angsty and cliche but i do think it is pathetic the way we do this...
well this is kinda just a useless blog, but after sitting at work procrastinating listening to aforementioned artist,
i found myself needing to write something.
and again why do i write? hmm...
but yeh on a happy note i bought me a Holga off ebay last night :D,
and a whole bunch of expired film and a 35mm converter,
and i'm heaps excited!
cause i'm proper lame,
and on another note, 2010 wow heaps cool,
however i did have the best NYE ever, (despite the night summing up in me walking the streets of Ermington with a baseball bat haha, fail!)
